Application of Dixon Ring

Dixon ring also called θ packing ring, is made of stainless steel and other metallic wires. Weave the metal wires into rolls and then cut them into specified strips. Roll up the strips and form the dixon ring. The diameter of dixon ring is same as the height, which can supply high performance.  The pressure drop of dixon ring packing is related to the gas velocity, liquid spray volume, gravity of the substance, surface tension, viscosity, and the characteristic factors of the packing, and is also related to the pre-liquid pantreatment of the packing.

The amount of stagnant material of dixon ring packing is larger than that of similar solid fillers, and the surface wetting of dixon ring is also more complete than that of general porcelain rings, and the film formation rate is higher, so the efficiency is also higher.  The theoretical number of plates of dixon ring packing increases with the increase of gas velocity, and decreases with the decrease of surface wettability of the packing.

The Dixon ring is widely used in laboratory and low-volume, high purity product separation process. It is highly corrosion-resistant and can be manufactured using a variety of materials to suit different chemical environments.
